Recruiting Challenge: Top-ranked Leadership Development Non-Profit Searches for Their Next North American Sales Leader

Rice Cohen International
Client Stories

The Urgency For this Position to be Filled Was High Due to the Incumbent Preparing to Retire

Feeling pressure due to the incumbent preparing to retire, this Non-Profit organization partnered with Rice Cohen International as their first ever external search partner in their fifty-year history. The client’s hesitancy to use a search firm motivated the team at Rice Cohen because we knew that we possessed the proper skillsets and experience to see this role to a successful placement.

Finding and Securing a Mission-Driven, High-Growth Sales Leader

After performing an initial assessment of our client’s needs it became apparent that due to our client’s non-profit nature, there was a critical need for this candidate to be mission- driven. They were also looking for an experienced sales leader who has led a substantially large enough sales function. With these two major aspects of the role in mind, Rice Cohen began sourcing candidates.

Formulating a Search Strategy After Conducting Initial Analysis, The RCI team Identified Highly Qualified Candidates to Present to the Hiring Team

After identifying over 300 total candidates the team at RCI screened out over half of them due to being underqualified, too expensive, or screened out for cultural reasons. The client was able to interview a total of 14 candidates whose compensation expectations and experience fit the criteria. Five of those candidates were advanced  to the final stage of the interview process.  After offering the job to their preferred candidate, Rice Cohen helped close the candidate and they accepted. The search was officially closed in an efficient manner. The search process was exhaustive and took a bit longer than normal. It closed in just under 5 months.
